Pumpkin Carving Contest
Teams :

- Carving begins at 6:00pm whether you're all there or not...so get there early!
- You will have 45 minutes to do your magic on them pumpkins, and then it is time for judging.
- Your pumpkins will be evaluated by our most esteemed judge : /10 for creativity, /10 for craftsmanship, and /10 for nerdiness.
- Results will be revealed in 10 minutes! (before the clock strikes 7.)
- SOS will provide, per team : one pumpkin, one garbage-bag-clad table, one knife.
- To supplement your creation, YOU can bring : a nail (if poking a hole helps the first stab), a template (if you made it yourself), sharpies, and other accessories that you would like to put on your pumpkin.

Dear SOS,
We know your midterms are coming up…but Halloween is also drawing near! What’s better to celebrate the end of midterms and have fun on Halloween than to come to the SOS Halloween Party?!?!

Time : 5:30 - 8:30pm (after your physics midterm!)
Location : Abdul Ladha Science Centre
Who : SOSers!
Why should you come? It’s a great way to rejoice in your survival through the first half of term 1 in Science One!
There will be a pumpkin carving contest, costume contest (so dress up!), and Super Smash Bros. Melee tournament!
There will be prizes! Snacks and normal drinks will also be provided – Bring Your Own Mug to save the environment!
Here’s what you need to do to ensure fun on Oct 29th:

Of course, you are not obligated to participate in the pumpkin carving or SSBM tournie, but it will be great fun if you do!
Also, costume is not mandatory, but recommended!

- Thursday, October 8th @ 5pm, in room 103 of the Abdul Ladha Science Centre: This first session is for going over the basics of differential calculus - if you are having trouble staying on top of lectures and textbook questions, this is the session for you. This session is designed to be very structured and has a target audience of people that have not taken Calculus AP or Math 12 HL, but all who need help is welcomed.
- Tuesday, October 13th @ 5pm, in the Science One Lounge (room 361 in IBLC): The second session is for general help with calculus, and is designed to be more interactive than the first. Here you can discuss any problems with past math assignments, and perhaps even get a few clues about current ones. If there are no questions, the mentor will begin walking through some interesting concept problems. All is welcomed!
